The St. Patrick’s Day
The first place on our list of the most amazing events in Europe is The St. Patrick’s Day. The St. Patrick’s Day is a religious festival given in honor of the patron saint of Ireland. It is celebrated on March 17 in several countries across the world. Although it is an Irish festival, Sainte-Patrick is celebrated in France, both by Irish and French who proclaim themselves “Irish for a day”.
Haro wine festival
The Haro Wine Festival is known in Spanish as ‘La Batalla del Vino’ – the wine battle. Back in the sixth-century, the rocks around the mountain where the fight takes place were home to a hermit monk, who later became the patron saint of the town of Haro. Each year on the 29th of June, thousands of locals and quite a bunch of lucky tourists who happen to be there and partake in that event, climb a mountain in La Rioja, Spain, and throw wine on each other.
La Tomatina festival occupies the third place on the list of the most amazing events in Europe 2017. The origins of this tomato battle date back to a fight between children in 1945 and since then it has been celebrated every year. The “Tomatina” takes place on the last Wednesday in August in the town of Buñol. This extravagant event attracts every year the attention of handfuls of people around the world ready to have a blast hurling tomatoes at each other. Participants at this joyful pitched battle have a wonderful time throwing tomatoes at anything that moves.
Omnivore Food Festival
Omnivore Food Festival leaves Deauville and settles in Paris. It is a culinary festival of international reputation. This gourmet event welcomes chefs from around the world, they come to prepare new recipes, conduct culinary workshops, and master-classes. The festival is held in March at the Maison de Municipalité.
The Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling
Britain has got quite a bunch of extravagant annual events but one of the weirdest is definitely the Cheese Rolling at Cooper’s Hill in Brockworth. The Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake is an annual event held on the Spring Bank Holiday at Cooper’s Hill, near Gloucester in England. Originally, it’s for the locals of Brockworth village. However, today people from all over the world take part. In a nutshell, several large Gloucestershire cheese is rolled down a hill, and the locals throw themselves trying to catch each one until they are proclaimed the winner. The event takes its name from the hill on which it occurs.
Last and not least event on the list of the most amazing events in Europe is The Fashion Week in Paris. The Fashion Week also is known as the Week of Fashion in Paris is a half-yearly meeting that will take place from May to September 2017. It is split in Haute couture Spring / Summer and Autumn / Winter and ready-to-wear clothing. This fashion event attracts the largest Haute Couture houses, each of which comes to present its new collections.
